Congregational Greeting & Theme of the Day:
“Deep in Our Hearts”
PRAYER OF THE DAY: We seek you with our whole hearts O God. Draw us into the embrace of your loving and merciful promise, and teach us to live in your ways. Then make us bold to reach out and draw others into the joy of living in communion with you. Amen.

PRAISE HYMN: Lord I Lift Your Name on High
Lord I lift Your name on high. Lord, I love to sing Your praises.
I’m so glad You’re in my life. I’m so glad You came to save us.
You came from heaven to earth to show the way,
From the earth to the cross, my debt to pay.
From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky,
Lord, I lift Your name on high.
THE WORD OF GOD: First Lesson:
Jeremiah 31:31-34
31"The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. 32It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them, “declares the LORD. 33"This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
Psalm 119:9-16
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.
Second Lesson:
Hebrews 5:5-10
5 So Christ also did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father." 6And he says in another place, "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek." 7During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. 8Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered 9and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him 10and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.
The Holy Gospel according to St. John, beginning in the 12th Chapter.
Gospel Lesson: John 12:20-33
20Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the Feast. 21They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. "Sir," they said, "we would like to see Jesus." 22Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.
23Jesus replied, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
27"Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. 28Father, glorify your name!" Then a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again." 29The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him. 30Jesus said, "This voice was for your benefit, not mine. 31Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. 32But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." 33He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.

“Healer”
You are my healer; You are my Shelter from myself.
You’re my deliverer. You love me back to life each time I fail.
You’re my desire. You’re all that fills my hungry need.
You draw me higher. You know my heart and yet you still love me.

This spring Pastor will give a series of sermons entitled “Faith and Finances”. This series is the result of a suggestion from one of our members. So do you have any suggestions for Pastor Mark? Are there any subjects you would like to see turned into a Sermon Series? Do you have any questions or concerns that you would like to see PM develop into a Sermon Series for this fall? If you do then tell Pastor or call the church office.

Danger Vs. Opportunity
Did you know that the average crisis lasts for about six weeks? By the end of a month and a half, people usually come to some solution. Sometimes the solutions are good, but sometimes they just cause more painful problems. Stephen Ministry can help people find positive resolutions to crises.
For someone who will listen and help you, a Stephen Minister is waiting:

There are about 200 giving units in our church and if each unit gave an extra $10 each month at the end of the year we would have an additional $24,000. Please consider a slight increase in your commitment to the ministry here at St. John and help solve our financial problem.
